New Fundraising Initiative with Viridian

Sign up for a greener, more affordable energy plan and…

  • SAVE $ on a bill that you are already paying;
  • Go GREEN with Viridian’s Everyday Green Program;
  • Help Girls on the Run sustain itself in this turbulent economy

Viridian is able to charge less in this deregulated environment because it doesn’t have the overhead that the big utilities have. Viridian purchases power off the grid just like everyone else, except that they purchase 20% of their power from wind farms in Pennsylvania exceeding the new mandates (14%) from the Federal Government way ahead of time.  Utilities in deregulated areas are no longer able to make a profit off of the generation of power so they are actually encouraging companies like Viridian to take over the financing of that power and resell it to the consumer.  Viridian is operating in New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. It is opening soon in Massachusetts, New York and Illinois.

So here is the deal:

  • You are going to save money!
  • Viridian offers a greener product as a standard.
  • The application takes less than 2 minutes.
  • You will see your savings on the next full billing cycle.
  • There are no long-term contracts and NO FEES to switch.
  • You can switch back anytime.
  • One time application, long-term savings.

Here is what you do:

  • Find a copy of your power bill and go to www.viridian.com/gotrnj
  • Click on “Become A Customer” button on the upper right side of the Homepage in the green leaf.
  • Type in your Zip Code and your Utility Company, it will have your provider in the drop down option.
  • It is then going to ask you if you want Everyday Green 20% or Pure Green 100%. Depending your desire to be green and save money will dictate which you choose. Everyday Green will be the biggest money saver and greener than if you made no change, 100% green your bill may not be less but you will be using 100% green power for your electricity.
  • Have your Power bill handy; look for your POD ID in the POWER/ELECTRIC section of your bill. If you pay both power and gas on the same bill, make sure you find the “PE” in the electric portion of your bill; it will start with a “PE” followed by 18 numbers.
  • When you proceed and input your contact information, make sure to put it in EXACTLY as it is on your bill.  This is key.

For EVERY person that signs on to use Viridian, GOTR NJ will be making $2/month.  SO – just if YOU do this, you have already raised $24 for GOTR in a year’s time.

Thank you for your support of Girls on the Run of NJ East!
